A mesh network isn't typical consumer WiFi infrastructure. Does your LAN also have wired Ethernet? If so, you might be best to get the wired Ethernet adapter and put the Chromecast on wire. If, then, you have problems, it's your mesh network, definitely not your Chromecast.
